Lucia Cammarota“I’m glad to be helping a Catholic organization that is doing such good work,” says Lucia Cammarota (CA’23), who works for the , where she supports campus missionaries behind-the-scenes from the organization’s Denver headquarters.

After her graduation in 2023, Miss Cammarota moved to Arizona to teach second grade, but after years of employment in secular environments throughout high school and college, she wanted to put her services to use for a Catholic company. “I was ready to try a different environment, do something that would benefit the Church, and share my faith,” she says.

While job searching, she came across an opportunity at FOCUS, a missionary organization devoted to engaging and educating college students in the Catholic faith. As she went through the application process and learned more about FOCUS’s mission, she became convinced that it was just what she was looking for.

“I was lucky to go to TAC, where it was easy for me to choose to practice and grow in my faith. FOCUS brings the Faith to campuses where that choice is not as easy or clear and supports students as they choose to follow Christ.”

“I think what FOCUS does is so important,” she says. “College is such a formative time: You finally get to start making your own decisions about how you want to live your life and who you want to be. I was lucky to go to TAC, where it was easy for me to choose to practice and grow in my faith. FOCUS brings the Faith to campuses where that choice is not as easy or clear and supports students as they choose to follow Christ.”

In September 2024, FOCUS hired Miss Cammarota as a donor-care specialist at its Denver Support Center. “I primarily field questions from donors and missionaries,” she explains. “My associates and I spend every day solving problems, having great conversations, and forming connections with our supporters. We even ask for prayer intentions, so we are always praying for the people we’ve helped.”

In January, Miss Cammarota had the privilege of assisting with FOCUS’s annual SEEK conference, which this year brought together a in Salt Lake City. “It was beautiful to see such a variety of people at the conference, especially those coming back to the Faith after a long time,” she says. “People always say our generation is losing our faith, so it gave me so much hope to see the conference’s confession lines and auditoriums full of college students returning to Christ and rediscovering the truth of God’s goodness and mercy.”
