Theater is a beloved supplement to the ϲ curriculum. Comedies and tragedies, both Shakespearean and Greek, and Gilbert and Sullivan musicals are often featured in the annual spring performance.
On the West Coast, a student group called the St. Genesius Players works meticulously for several months each year to stage these productions. In New England, the first formal play performance is slated for the spring of 2021. The students are set to perform Shakespeare’s As You Like It under the direction of Joe Rivera (’17).
Many students have also developed a passion for independent filmmaking. Using personal video cameras and editing equipment, they produce high-quality movies which are often shown as the entertainment before dances and at periodic on-campus film festivals.
