Toward the end of every academic year, the freshmen, sophomores, and juniors each have one last chance to share a special moment with the soon-to-be graduates before Commencement. The juniors on the California campus recently took their turn, hosting the annual Junior-Senior Dinner & Dance. Transforming St. Joseph Commons into a magical space, the juniors gave the Class of 2022 a night to remember. 

String lights and decorative flora hung above the College’s upperclassmen as they shared a gourmet dinner, prepared and served by the juniors, and enjoyed a final dance together late into the night. “It was just our class and the juniors,” said Nicole Walshe (’22). “They’re the class we’re closest to, and it was wonderful to have everyone together in a more intimate setting’”

Some took the moment to be a portent of things to come, however bittersweet. “This dance felt especially special because I finally saw the seniors as seniors,” Sophie Cummings (’23) observed. “It got me charged up to be senior — they’re passing their legacy on to us.” Turning to the seniors’ approaching departure, she added, “I’ll miss them, but they’re ready to go into the world and evangelize.”
